The Bach Mini Biography and the Bach Beer Stein. You may find both items elsewhere as well. But one thing is for sure: You will not get six free add-ons with your purchase anywhere. These are the "Bach Biography for Children," as an eBook, as an audiobook with music by Bach, and also as a PDF for your tablet. Of course, we are on the lookout every week for these four historical Bach treasures, and we find quite a few that come into question. However, quality plays a major role when we consider adding one or the other used item to my Bach 4 You Shop. The smallest Bach Mini Biography is so valuable and so rare that it can only be found in perfect condition. But ... not often. It is somewhat different with the little larger Bach Mini Biography. This Mini Biography itself is mostly flawless, but one decorates it with the slipcase that was once intended to protect the Bach Mini Biography. In this case, it is certainly more difficult to "rescue" almost undamaged "treasures": We order only the best-preserved copies with only tiny damage to the corners or edges of the slipcase.

The large and very valuable Bach Beer Stein is also mostly perfectly treated and has practically no damage. Completely different, however, is the light blue / dark blue specimen. Here, the tin lid is the challenge: This Bach Beer Stein is practically no longer offered with a silver-colored, that is shiny lid. It is always dull black. Since 1985, we have never found such a Bach Beer Stein in twelve years that did not have a deep black lid. In the meantime, we are "masters of restoration" and succeed in bringing it almost back to its original condition with the right cleaning paste. Only the Bach Seal and the year 1685 remain, which can no longer be completely restored to the condition in which they were purchased. They remain black, but thus make the seal more visible, and it could have been designed from the beginning (... but it is not). Then to scratches on the lid. We only accept a Bach Beer Stein if the lid is without scratches. To do this, you have to discover on the photos that there are just no scratches, that is, you have to see it photographed with different incidence of light. The tiny Bach Mini Biography No. 2. No, the two coins are not included with the purchase. The cover is made of leather and has a buckle, also made of leather. On the right, the Bach Mini Biography is slid in. On the left side of the leather cover is a recess where the plaque fits. We took it out for the photo and lit it so that you can see Johann Sebastian Bach on it in all his glory. You have recognized it, it is not just any plaque, but it is a plaque from the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory. On it you can see the supposed seal of Bach, which is more than 200 years old, that is the one with seven pins (... it was found out recently, the original has only five pins). You guess when it was published? And also why? That's right, you know Bach's birth date and it was the 300th anniversary in 1985. In 2018, we celebrated Bach's 333rd birthday. So is this little Bach Mini Biography a future antique? That's right, in 2023 it was 37 years old.

A Small Information Regarding the Six Add-Ons

First of all, this is our Bach Biography for Children. But in fact it is also (... and moreover in two other versions) up to eight hours of listening fun for adults. The music by Bach woven into the audiobook also makes the work special. There are 19 pieces of music that connect the chapters. However, only really ultra-short pieces of music are included, each only about three minutes long. In the front third of the medley, you also listen to an eight-minute short biography regarding Bach's life and works. It, too, is accompanied by music of the master. The next "goodie" is the Bach Necrology from 1750. However, it was not published until 1754. Three authors who were very close to Bach wrote it. The first was Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, one of two very famous sons of the Eisenach composer. The second was a student of Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Friedrich Agricola, and the third was the Leipzig publisher, Johann Christoph Mizler. What is exciting about this very first short biography, which you can also read in different versions in the project Bach on Bach, is the special German as it was spoken at that time. It was very important to keep this feeling for the way in which they were talking back then. You can also listen to this audio offering.
